Family and Friends

Without the support of my family and friends I would not be able to be a professional athlete. I have had nothing but unconditional support from everyone around me as I start down this new career path. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their love and support as I follow my dreams as a professional athlete. I would like to give special thanks to:

My parents, Dan and Holly, sisters Amanda and Julia, brother-in-law Kevin, my Grandparents Arnold and Russell, former coaches Dan Steele and Fred Kendall, and close friends Joey, Travis, Adam, Billy, Marc, Jeff, Melanie, Dave, Barrett, Sharon, Justin, Emily, Cody, Eric, Jason, Laci, and Will.

Facilities

Hayward Field

I do the majority of my track workouts at Hayward Field. I also have access to the weight room, underwater treadmill, and anti-gravity treadmill there. Oh by the way Hayward Field is the best track in the world!

South Eugene High School

The track at South Eugene is my secondary track. If for some reason Hayward Field is closed or busy I work out here. This is also where I do alot of my fall track workouts because it is so close to Amazon Park.

Pre's Trails

I do most all of my longer runs and even parts of my warm-up on Pre's Trails. There are three main loops that create over 4 miles of trails and many connecting points with other nearby trails and paths. Most of the trail is woodchips and is great for lower impact running.

Amazon Trail

At Amazon Trail, right across the street from South Eugene High School, there are 1000 and 1600 meter loops where I will do interval work during the fall and winter. I will run anything between 800's and 1200's here. The trail is all woodchips which keeps pounding to a minimum.

Hendricks Park

At Hendricks Park, there is a 300 meter hill that I do intervals on. My best time to the top is around 45 seconds so it is about equivalent to a 400 meter on the track. I run intervals anywhere between 100 and 300 meters. There are also alot of other trails in the park that are good for cool downs or longer runs.

Ridgeline Trails

Ridgeline is located in the South Hills of Eugene. There are miles of trails that I use maybe every other weekend for long runs. It is in the forest and has lots of hills so it is a nice change of scenery sometimes.

Oakway Fitness Center

This is where I do some of my cross training, mostly aqua-jogging and other pool exercises. It also has a weight room, steam room, and sauna that I use from time to time.

Massage Therapist

Kathleen Dugan

Kathleen Dugan, LMT, specializes in orthopedic massage, treating injuries due to soft tissue damage caused by sports activities or overuse. She does massage work aimed at athletic maintenance and injury prevention while employing a variety of techniques to most effectively treat soft-tissue dysfunction, pain, and injury. She also provides movement therapy to prevent injuries due to postural deficiencies and to enhance efficiency of movement.
